HISTORY
The Gelateria has graced the corner of 14th and Washington in downtown St. Louis since January of 2006. Original owners Chris and Dana Shearman did a fabulous job of establishing it as a cozy destination for sweet treats, espresso and other deliciousness. However, by early 2009, they decided it would be best for them to focus more on their shop on South Grand (Gelateria del Leone), their growing wholesale gelato business and their growing firstborn due to arrive in the fall.
They approached Jonathan and Amanda Andrus, downtown residents and gelato lovers, about making the Gelateria their own. Despite the fact that Jonathan had vowed never to return to self-employment, he and Amanda decided they couldn't pass up the great opportunity to invest further in the neighborhood they love. On April 1, 2009 Jonathan and Amanda assumed ownership and changed the name to Gelateria Tavolini. They love getting to know more of their neighbors while serving them St. Louis' best gelato and espresso!
